Restore funding to UIC Sickle Cell Center that was cut IMMEDIATELY by Bruce Rauner.

Support HR 0255 to Waive Sickle Cell Disease from the 30 day Readmission Rule (A person with Sickle Cell cannot return to the same hospital within 30 Days for new Treatment if another Crisis occurs/ Reffusal of Treatment)

I met with staff members at the university today to discuss the impact of the funding cuts on patient care. We are currently drafting a formal memorandum to circulate to the members of the committee reviewing HR 0255. Expect a breakdown of their initial feedback once I receive a written response.

The growth of this petition has reached a level that commands attention from the legislative offices in Springfield. I am currently finalizing a formal briefing packet based on these signatures to deliver directly to the relevant committee chairs.

my brother has to deal with this and the hospital just turning people away is heartless. stop playing games with people lives just to save a buck.

I believe the funding shouldn't be cut because you can't control when you go into a crisis and Sickle Cell is a very real problem that doesn't get as much funding as it actually needs
