This building is at the centre of our city, and should be in use for a purpose that is of community benefit, rather than commercial. Local governments should have access to resources that enable them to develop community sites for community benefit.

This iconic and historic building sits within the beating heart of Armidale's cbd. It is a landmark where people gather. The NSW State Government should be conserving such buildings not selling them off. The Armidale community would prefer to see this building creatively utilised not left to moulder until an unknown developer is found. Please consult the Armidale community before continuing with this ill considered and economically non viable proposition. Also consult with the Nationals local representative Adam Marshall who would also prefer to see the Armidale Courthouse managed by local community representatives. Ruth Thompson, Uralla, 2358

Dear Premier Baird, Surely your Government should be listening to local people for local guidance. Use of an existing and iconic building is far cheaper and more desirable than buying new land and building a new centre. And it would be almost impossible to find the land within the CBD. The Armidale courthouse is a public icon and should remain in public hands. Sincerely, Patsy Asch

Leave our old buildings alone, they are part of Armidale's history.

Usual for the Baird Govt, look at the Newcastle fiasco, especially the GPO there. A Dictatorship at its best....

I cannot believe that we ' the community of Armidale' have not been consulted.

Thank you, Gordon. Armidale citizens appear to lack the cohesive willpower necessary to confront the continuing injustices wrought by those who rule without recourse to democracy.

Good letter Gordon spot on. The court House belongs to the people of Armidale and State Govt. exists to serve the people. NOT FOR SALE

I deplore the private sale of this iconic building in Armidale. It would be put to far better use as a cultural centre for the people of this City.

Definitely the community must be consulted before the State Gov barges in on a sale.

Again we see bureaucracy not representing the constituents who put them in their positions. Their only motive is to balance the books to cover up their overspending and inefficiencies, and to maintain their snouts in the trough

As a ratepayer of Armidale I support keeping the Old Courthouse in public hands to be used by the people of Armidale . It is an iconic heritage building

Government is FOR the people BY the people. This building belongs to the Armidale community not the NSW government ... why? So the funds can be poured into Sydney! Not on my name.

This heritage building should not be sold off to developers. I support a Crown Land Trust to allow the people of Armidale to manage and use this beautiful Court House

Yes. This is a top idea to let the locals use this iconic building just as Gordon Cope says.

It is unthinkable that the NSW government would not consult the local people regarding the fate of the Armidale Court House. This building should remain a public asset.
