The Council are proposing to cancel the free school bus from Millison's Wood to Meriden Primary School (even though there are continuous concerns and issues about the traffic and congestion at the school and a "near miss" on 10 February when a child was nearly run over at the lollipop crossing). If you are the parent of a pupil of Meriden Primary and/or live in Millison's Wood, help us keep this great service. It would be such a shame to lose it and many parents depend on it.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you stepped up to protect this bus service. This momentum belongs entirely to the community members who refused to look the other way.

This bus is a much needed service for people who do not drive I used it when my sons were at Meriden School I have walked from Bonnerville close ti the school and although only a couple of miles with small children it took about an hour and they were exausted at the end and mum still had to get home and back again for the return home you can get public transport but again its a time factor could a small weekly charge not be made from parents for this service

Whilst the council are introducing 'school streets' in the borough (to reduce car volume traffic in roads immediately around some schools with no parking restrictions) this seems completely counterproductive and will only suit to increase the number of millisons wood parents that need to drive their children into Meriden for school.

I rely on this bus to get my son safely to school. We live 2 miles from the school, yet it is our closest. This is definitely not walking distance for a 4 year old!

I can't believe they are expecting children to walk to school from millisons wood! In all weather & could have to sit in wet clothers all day, plus It would take at least an hour to do this at both ends of the day. Plus the safety of the children on this busy road. It could take a parent who is a non driver 4 hours in total to drop / pick up their child a day. The public buses to & from the village only run every hour, & the x1 old 900 only goes to the village, on the way back it stops at the top roundabout so a child would still have a fair walk at the end of a long day of learning.

without the free bus it will cause more traffic through the village plus not everyone has a car and its too far to walk for little ones (down hill to get there but UPHILL to get back) and not all mums can spare another 45mins or so in the morning to walk that far. free bus is vital.

One child has just finished using the bus as he's moved to senior school. one in nursery due to start using the bus Sept 2017 and one more child to start nursery school In 2017 and will be on the bus when full time in 2018. Disgrace to let this service go, invest in promoting the use of it to other families rather than taking it away and increasing the traffic in the village, congestion around the school and impact on the environment. It builds confidence & independence in our children, a skill that can only be learnt and prepares them for public transport when transitioning to senior school.

Reduce congestion and safety at the school by keeping the bus service. My kids used it and it was a very valued service.

How can you put young vulnerable children at risk by taking away the millisons wood school bus and put them on public transport with strangers
