On Jan 17, 2019 the MaGOP will choose another new chair of the party. As rank and file Republicans in Massachusetts it is under great pain we request 2 things;
1. this open letter be read aloud by Vice Chair Kangas before choosing a new chair.
2. this letter be included into the minutes of the state committee meeting held Jan 17, 2019.
Dear state committee, hear our thoughts and prayers.
As the heart and soul of the party, we are disheartened. From sacrificing our time and money for lackluster results, to not being taken seriously from within - or - outside of the party, and most sadly of all, for being stigmatized just for identifying as Republican! We need you to choose someone who can organize the party internally, and market the brand externally. Someone who will define the party. Someone who will look for innovative opportunities to present our brand in a positive light. If the party apparatchiks understand what the brand is, they’re not sharing it with the rank and file, and certainly not with the public! As Republicans we live with constant unabashed slams, and thats just from average folks, forget the Democrat activists!! and what about the latest measurement of public sentiment towards the Republican brand?? Novembers election ??!!
For there to be liberty, there has to be a voice that advocates for the supremacy of people as individuals, a voice always on the record in opposition to the suffocating effects of big government, creeping socialism, ... a voice that points out just how much bad there is, in the so called common good. If it’s not a Republican voice, then who?
We are demoralized, but we are resolute in the idea that, everyones best qualities shine brightest, when they live the Republican message of personal responsibility, equal opportunity, and respect for individual rights. Tonight, individually you have the opportunity and responsibility of making a hiring decision that goes beyond simply anointing the next in line.
Ask yourself, if you’re hiring someone whose skill set includes the ability to articulate, brand and market Republicanism. Failing this, it’s with mathematical certainty the MaGOP will compete for the same irrelevancy as the 25 other political designations in Massachusetts, such as the Pizza or Pirate party. Look it-up !
... please God, ...save the MaGOP if the committee won’t save themselves
~ respectfully submitted

I have been staring at the inbox all morning and honestly the silence from the leadership is getting pretty loud. People keep messaging me with their own stories about being ignored by the committee and it just proves that we were right to speak up because if they want our support they need to start treating the base like they actually matter.

I just looked at the feed and realized how many people are actually feeling this exact same frustration with the direction we are headed. It is honestly overwhelming to see this much energy behind the idea that we deserve better leadership because I really thought I was just shouting into the void when I started this whole thing.

As a recent State Rep candidate and RTC Chair, I can see much room for improvement. We need good leadership as well as resolute commitment from all elected State Committee men and women and town committees. We all have responsibility and work to do. The current direction has not worked well for the MA Republican party as evidenced by the fact that there are only 32 Republicans out of 160 in the MA legislature. We need NEW direction.
Leadership by the chair is lacking. Anticipate likewise starting 18 Jan 19. The reason is clear. The state committee is not demanding of the chair, nor setting the stage for a leader to emerge. Status quo ante.
I am tired of the lack of regard that I have been given, only to see my ideas, initiatives, and even talking points appropriated by intellectual pygmies-cum-morally repugnant Republican operatives. I am more disgusted, however, by the lack of Republican presence in Boston and the attempts by the party faithful to hinder any efforts to make a positive difference in the City.
Please choose someone who will work hard to prompt the Republican Party our candidates and the good that we do, instead of just sitting back allowing us to be used as pawns by the Democrat Machine.
It can no longer be business as usual within the party. The party lost it's way and it's vision. We have become irrelevant. As the party of Lincoln, we need to fight for what is moral and right. We need to educate our youth about the vision and sacrifice of our founding fathers.
I am tired of feeling like my opinions and beliefs do not matter, that common sense is a thing of the past! Wake up - serve the people you are supposed to represe
A single party system is fraught with danger.

We need a Chairperson who is as strong in his/her Conservative values as President Trump and Scott Lively, and willing to go to the wall to protect these values!! We do not need another RINO like Kirsten Hughes!!! Let's take the gloves off and really fight for a Conservative Massachusetts. The Communist liberals are eating our lunch and our GOP leadership doesn't have the fortitude(guts), or intelligence to fight back!!! I believe there are many true Republicans in Massachusetts who are ready to take direction from Conservative leadership and turn this State around. Marlborough RCC and State GOP Delegate, Bob Alessio
