With a week left until the MIGOP convention, the anonymous attacks and mudslinging are starting to ramp up.We have seen the same thing happen in the past and it was disruptive to our party unity. At the end of the day, we are all Republicans.We will all work together to elect a Republican ticket in November and we will all continue to work to build a stronger, more conservative Republican Party.We ask that all candidates for convention office join Ron Weiser in his pledge to maintain a positive campaign, free of false attacks and mudslinging.We hope that all the campaigns will keep their campaigns positive and focused on what they can do to strengthen the Conservative cause in Michigan. Will you sign this petition and let them know that you want a clean campaign, free of dirty smears?

About time someone said something. This constant attacking just makes us look weak. Stick to the issues and stop the petty stuff.
Totally agree. Im sick of seeing my inbox filled with lies and baseless claims. Grow up and campaign like adults.
Seriously tired of the smears. Just tell us what you stand for and stop acting like middle schoolers.
Our state senate primary was disgusting, and driven by one PAC. One candidate kept it clean... the other not so much. The comments here in the UP about the mudslinging were not kind, and although the campaign worked, it created enormous ill feeling. I believed either candidate would make a good state senator... will now have to wait and see, I guess.
I despise anonymous mudslinging emails sent by cowards. You want credibility? Have the courage to sign your real name to these emails. Otherwise, I just hit delete. It is entirely possible the these emails are being created by Dems trying to cause disunity in the GOP. All the more reason to ignore and delete anonymous attack emails.
Sorry that I missed this until after the convention. I don't like the mudslinging either. There are a lot of party members who are called conservative who are nothing more than liberals parading as real Republicans. Oops, that's not mudslinging that's the truth. This institutional hypocrisy is going to cost us in November. The voters were looking for an opposition party in 2010. Unfortunately what they got was: 1. State spending up $7 billion over Granholm 2.Turned a privately financed international bridge into a government financed boondoggle. 3. Giving Mike Ilitch $400 million to fiance a privately owned stadium 4. Committed $360 miliion to the Detroit light rail boondoggle 5. Pledged $300 million to the DIA 6. Enacted $195 million bail out of Detroit by state legislature 7. Turned a privately financed $2 billion make over of Belle Isle into a state park instead 8. Taxed senior's pensions 9. Assisted the Democrats in nationalizing Michigan healthcare with a state financed ObamaCare Exchange. 10. Burdened Michigan taxpayers with the Medicaid Expansion 11. Doubling the gas tax 11. Doubling vehicle registration fees 12. Increasing the sales tax to 8% 13. Brought Common Core to Michigan schools The above isn't anything a conservative would be proud of, but, a Democrat would be. We have to stop the Democrats from infiltrating the party. The latest polls show the top of the Michigan ticket trailing the Democrats. It's beginning to look like the 15,000 regs that the administration repealed will be reinstated and the Right to Work will be repealed. Mr. Schostak's tent that houses anyone who calls themselves a Republican is about to collapse. He desperately wants centrist to liberal Republicans to be winners. Snyder won his first term parading as a Republican. His cred's are now established and they ain't Republican. The grass roots' overwhelming opposition to ObamaCare's Exchange and the Medicaid Expansion were ignored by Snyder and the leg
