This is the ONE venue where you can see the artists very up close and personal, and they'll interact with you as they roam the premises. I love the intimate atmosphere. The Masquerade is the only venue that will showcase artists that aren't really popular on mainstream radio but who have huge fan bases, and who aren't normally booked by other venues. The staff is also great & very helpful, unlike other venues. KEEP THE MASQUERADE OPEN! :)

My band (Regional at Best) just recently played here. No matter what, this is the best venue in Atlanta for local and touring acts, hands down. Everyone that works there is extremely nice and it's a staple in Atlanta's community. Atlanta ruined its' nightlife by getting rid of all of the clubs in Buckhead and turning it into a retail district, the last thing they need to do is destroy one of the last few pieces of Atlanta's nightlife to put overpriced apartments. What's next? They get rid of the Tabernacle because they want to put more crappy restaurants instead?

I don't know what can be done to save this place, but the loss of edgy and interesting haunts like the Masquerade are making intown living boring and causing the city to lose some of its character.

So many of my friends have played here & I always hear about the Masquerade, even though I don't live in Georgia. Something with that much admiration shouldn't be torn down.

There are so many other places to build apartments. Why take down a well-known, historic venue that is still active and displaying a great business?

There are plenty of apartments and housing downtown already. The City is tearing down all the rock clubs. How about tear down some on the hundreds of hip hop clubs instead, which promotes and breeds violence. Rock clubs don't bother anyone. Stop the madness and leave this club alone.

Tearing down this venue would hinder a lot of bands from coming to Atlanta. The masquerade is an icon, and as badly as it needs restoration, tearing it down is ultimately a horrible idea. Artists love to perform at this venue for the experience and difference of style it exudes. Building apartments in its place after years and years of live music bringing in the young crowd and revenue would be silly. You'll be ripping down something that the young scene of Atlanta thoroughly enjoy.
