Atlanta--One of our most beloved venues is going to be destroyed in order for new apartments to be built. Not only is The Masquerade an iconic structure (revived from an old mill to a music venue), it is a venue countless bands have shared their love for as well as the fans. We cannot let the destruction of this great venue take place. This is just a petition, and I do not know how far it will honestly go. But please sign it if you love The Masquerade and all the fun times it has brought to music lovers.
Here is the article about the building destruction

The Masquerade gave me the best nights of my life and seeing these signatures climb proves I am not the only one who feels this way. We are nearing twenty five hundred signatures and that is the specific number I need to force a serious conversation with the developers. Please send the link to anyone who values our city history so we can hit that goal by tonight.

I spent so many nights in those halls and the thought of them turning it into apartments hurts. We need to push harder to hit that thousand mark so the developers clearly understand how much this place means to our community.

I grew up in this run down piece of crap. But it's our piece of crap. So many bands I've seen take the stage there and damn near tear the place apart. We need to save this piece of rock n roll history... It'd be like tearing down CBGB's. Come on boss man don't sell.
As an Alabama resident, this is one.of the ONLY places within reasonable driving distance to see touring shows. This is a historic building that I have had the pleasure of creating memories at, and hope that it is still around for more memories to be made.
The masquerade is a great concert venue, not only for big name bands, but also for smaller bands trying to break into the scene. It would be a tragedy to turn it into apartment buildings when there are plenty of apartments over there already
The masquerade is more than a building or a club to many of us. It is a part of our DNA, a anchor within an Atlanta scene that is slowly dying and one of the few remaining icons of our youth. Nobody needs more high end hipster crap in the beltline.
Been coming to the masquerade since I was in High School, both as an attendee and a performer. Words cannot describe how important this venue is to me and fellow music fans who crave the close and personal atmosphere that this wonderful place creates.
Practically lived there while I was attending college in 93,94 & 95. Please don't tear this place down, It's part of Atlanta History !
I love thy place was the first place I met music and had sex with my cousin

The Masquerade has hosted some of the most memorable shows on every tour we've done (I the Mighty). Venues like this that have so much history and character need to be preserved, not destroyed. Let's cherish the arts and the structures that support them.
