The 1000+ members of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation have been asked to contact Governor Bobby Jindal about saving these trees.

My Dad drove heavy equipment for the contractor building this road, part of my heritage.

I can't believe anyone would cut these trees down. Shame on them.

If safety is the issue, a guard rail would be less expensive than cutting down all those beautiful old live oaks.

so sorry to see the impending demise of these beautiful oaks. I remember seeing them when going to visit relatives in morgan city.

Cutting trees is either ignorance, short-sightedness, or a combination.

I gaurantee that if the trees were in Lafayette parish and there was a business nearby the trees would not be harmed.

This is a project without much tought. These trees are an asset both economic and historic to Louisiana. Another option needs to be found. Lower the speed limit. It is to fast for the conditions. Put up barricades around the trees closest to the roads. Do not cut down these trees.
