Don't destroy our history. Live oak trees are part of our cultural heritage and removing them will only make the highway appear blighted. Spend some money on preservation.

Spend the extra money for the other option and let these beautiful trees stand! They are a part of what makes Louisiana beautiful. We have to preserve what attracts people to Louisiana. No one wants to see bare roads.

This is a short-sighted plan on the part of DOTD. Oak trees glow extremely slowly and take decades to get to the size of these magnificent specimens. If drivers cannot stay on the road, then the problem is not the trees. Perhaps lower the speed limit, set up alcohol checkpoints, or put up railings for texting-while-driving offenders to bounce off of.

The trees aren't a safety hazard, BAD DRIVERS are!!! This is a beautiful scenic highway. I'm pretty sure there is better use for the money it will cost to cut down historic oak trees!!!!

My Grandfather helped plant those trees when he was young. He always took great pride in that. It would be a shame to see them go.

There is no reason to cut down these beautiful trees other than to provide a contract to someone which will waste more tax dollars. Keep the Trees!

Save the tree!! Go GREEN!!! I could understand it the tree was sick.. but to cut a perfectly healthy elderly tree, in the name of progress, just isn't right!!! Find another means to get around the tree!!!

we need trees to survive and we need the old oak trees because they are older than us and should have more rights than us. They are part of our culture and tourists come just to see them. Don't destroy something that is beautiful, healthy and brings tourists' money!!!!
