Abandon this design, get the residents of Old Greenwich involved ,, and start putting the word out, that this is a WAY overbuilt plan, in size, scope ,and design which will destroy the entrance to our 1640 village on Long Island Sound.

It is the rotaries and small islands that add to the attractiveness to our town. The flow of traffic would still work reasonably well.

If Binney Pond is dredged and water flow through pond improves, flooding should not be an issue on Sound Beach Ave.
As we all know, improving traffic flow will encourage average speed of cars and create further possibility for accidents.

Minimum changes to traffic flow could be accomplished with a few stop signs rather than a massive round-about.
I have lived on Laddins Rock Rd for over 30 years and only remember 2 instances when flooding occurred on Sound Beach Ave at Perrot Library and alternate routes were used.

I do not see the need for this project. The need is for drivers too slow down in this area and follow the correct traffic rules regarding right of away at intersection.

I am vehemently opposed to this plan. Old Greenwich is the last remaining segment of the town that has retained a small town feel. It is a large part of what I love about Old Greenwich. Please keep your massive sidewalks and swaths of concrete (and high rise apartments) out of our little hamlet. We love our trees and our open spaces. I have been here nearly 35 years and the traffic circle in place works just fine.

This was not part of the original discussions with the town. There was an acknowledgement that some "slivers" of Binney Park would need to be taken in order to make the rotary, but not the island. In fact, there is also (to the best of my knowledge) a restriction in the covenant with the Binney family that any green space taken from the park would have to be made up somewhere else.
