Montgomery County Maryland is trying to shut down The Haunted Garden, a wonderful Halloween event created by Donna Kerr and Rania Peet...a safe, free and family friendly event that has been enjoyed by the local community for the past few years. It has become a witch hunt and the county has adopted harassment tactics and has even taken to invading the ladies' private life, asking for information about private parties held on the premises and trying to dictate what they can/can not post on their private social media outlets. This has to come to a stop. When the government begins invading citizens' private lives, harassing them to get their way and completely ignoring their basic rights, that government needs to be put in check.

The local government has continued its pattern of intrusive inquiries regarding private social gatherings. We are currently coordinating with legal counsel to address these overreaching demands.

The momentum behind this effort continues to grow as we approach two hundred and fifty signatures. Please direct your contacts to this page so that we arrive at our upcoming meeting with a clear mandate for the county to cease its unnecessary oversight.

I live a 1/4 mile from the Haunted Garden but live 1 block from Donna's former residence. My children have grown up attending several of Donna's neighborhood functions going back to an Easter Egg hunt for my now 16 year old daughter in 2002.

Basic right of artistic freedom and expression for the betterment of the community. It is truly a shame that this was ever fought or in question.

Just as people go all out for annual Christmas displays the Haunted Garden does for Halloween for the enjoyment of all.

Everything these ladies have done has been for the benefit of the community. If you close down the Haunted Garden, you might as well tell all the neighbors they cannot put up their Christmas lights.

My son, his friend and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. We want this fun, family tradition to continue and will help in anyway to see that it does.

This is a great, family-friendly event that this woman does for no reason other than the joy it brings others. Keep the Haunted Garden alive!

This garden should remain just as it's owners would like it to be as long as they would like to have it. No questions about anything. Just leave it alone.
