I participated in guide dogs for the blind my senior year of high school and it was an amazing experience for me that brought me a lot of great memories and helped teach me discipline, patience, kindness, hardworking, along with other things. It may not set you up for a career but it helps you learn valuable lessons and also a reminder you can have fun in high school. I was so stressed and anxious about high school especially my senior year but participating in the program helped me be happy. It also helps you find a community with people. I made some friends and I also made a furry friend. The program is a form a service and in the end you help a pup live a life where they get to service a human and they love it!

I have a niece and nephew that have participated in this program, raising 3 different dogs. They learned responsibility, dedication, teaching skills, love and how to do hard things!
It would be such a shame to cut this beautiful and rewarding program.

This program teaches and supplies so many important skills, not only to the dogs but to the handlers. Guide animals are the key to those who are trying to be as independent as possible. Please keep this important program.
