We do not need another convenient store in the area. That is a beautiful house of God and I would urge everyone I know to shop anywhere else in the event that a gas station would go up there in it's place. Sad.

There are MANY people and business-oriented contacts who are willing to buy bonds from the Town of Cumberland, or donate money, or become one of the limited partners....in getting the St. John UCC congregation the $ they want to build their new church on Carroll Road....and be the RIGHT alternative than selling this 100+ year old, historical, Cumberland landmark to become a GIANT EAGLE "GET GO" GAS STATION!!! Changing the EXISTING ZONING REGULATIONS when there are NINE (9!!) gas stations within just 1 mile of the NE corner of German Church Rd. & Washington Street is INSANE!!!! HELP KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING!!!

My husband and I have lived in Cumberland for 45 years and moved her because we liked the small town, old character of the town. While we appreciate progress, this is a very unnecessary sale to a company for another gas station/convenience store. We citizens of Cumberland want to buy the Church and repair it to its full glory!

I am another family member of the Witte family. I too do not want to see this church destroyed. The destruction of the church will degrade the area, not to mention make it more difficult to respect the deceased who have been buried in the cemetery behind the church. The area already was plenty of gas/convenience stations. There are better uses for the church than destruction if the church no longer wishes to own the building.

I do not want to see this church destroyed. I am a member of the Witte family who were on of the founding members.To tear down a local landmark for a gas and convenience store is not necessary when there are plenty of other useable locations in the area. Why do we need another gas station in the area when there are so many others.

Each abandoned gas station adds to the amount of toxic soil in the community. Why not build on an already polluted former gas station site?

There are about 9 gas stations within 1 mile. To bulldoze a historic landmark to the town of Cumberland for a GAS STATION is a TRAVESTY!!!!
