Already in a scandal for spending a disgusting amount of money on the 'Pirate Day' our council is quite obviously and plainly not being managed right! And this! A part of history, a beacon of Penzance ruined and are these choices being put to the people NO!

Disgraceful mutilation of my heritage. The side of the building is level for access and the addition of a lift inside.

What a complete waste of money and effort when there was an obvious cheaper solution to disabled and lower floor access to the offices and library that are going to be here, without destroying the frontage of this beautiful, historic and iconic building!!!!

Why would anyone want to destroy the appearance of such an imposing building? The people of Penzance deserve better from their councillors!!

I am disabled and am quite prepared to use entrances at the rear or side of this building if it would prevent the destruction of such a wonderful frontage

There should have been artists impressions of this in the Cornishman. What right do the council think that they have to destroy the original frontage of one of the most iconic buildings in "our" town!!
