Have we not taken enough of this country's history for granted?

"A concerted effort to preserve our heritage is a vital link to our cultural, educational, aesthetic, inspirational and economic legacies; all of the things that quite literally make us who we are."

What a travesty! How can you even consider demolishing such a significant building? As if the seaway did not wipe out just about all of the irreplaceable historical structures. You should be maintaining and restoring treasures like this for future generations. Once it is gone, you can NEVER get it back.

With so much of the history of South Dundas having been lost forever during the construction of St. Lawrence seaway, it is vitally important to preserve what little is left.

My ancestors, the Werte families, (Weart, Wert), lived here and were forced to move with the village. It was the end of my great-grandfather.

Please save this building (in situe) too much of the rich heritage along the seaway has already lost. If Iroquois Village really doesnt want to maintain it, please, please donate it to Lost Villages Museum or Upper Canada Village.

When it's gone, it's gone forever, and part of our past and ourselves with it.

History should be preserved...with so few public buildings left in our community due to the the Seaway project land grab, we should be preserving not tearing down.

So much of Iroquois was lost making the Forward House that much more important to be preserved. Save our history!!!

Pretty sad that all these years no money was ever budgeted or put aside for repairs of the Forward House...Even sadder that the township would evict the lady who has been living in the upstairs for the past 27 years.

Very few historically significant buildings left in South Dundas.... let's not consign another one to the dust pile! Maybe we could afford things if this council weren't always ordering $50,000. "studies" to get answers that anyone with common sense could give them!
