Maldon council is a joke, they do nothing but ruin our town first the swimming lake, then let the big supermarkets ruin the highstreet now a lady wants to try and bring something different to the town and they shoot her down. Hey maybe if she had enough money like tesco they would see things differently.

I thought local councils were meant to help and encourage local businesses and enterprise to enable people to be self sufficient and not have to rely on the state. This move goes against that and is unnecessary and aggressive implementation of planning policy when a more supportive approach should be taken.

What harm is this lady doing? Leave her alone to run her little business and concentrate on things that are actually detrimental to our community.

Let the lady keep her stall. She's not doing anybody any harm and she's come to rely on the income. The town should encourage business enterprise, not stomp on it!

This is a wonderful, imaginative addition to Maldon and should be embraced. It is very much in keeping with the area . Please keep Maldon interesting !

Maldon District Council need to stop acting as a "Fascist Mafia" forthwith! Their control freakery is unacceptable both in this case and that of the Pavilion Cafe, Heybridge!

How can you respond to a complaint when you don't know what the complaint is? How unfair is that? How can the council withdraw their support so easily?

Come on Maldon Council....you let in Tecso, Morrisons, McDonald's Costa and countless other huge conglomerates. Surely you can find a place in your hearts for a bit of individual, local enterprise! Isn't that what you Tories are supposed to stand for?
