Simcoe County has presented a short list of potential sites for the Organics Processing Facility (OPF) and Materials Management Facility (MMF).
• 5 out of the 7 sites are Simcoe County forest tracts
• There will be a negative impact on terrestrial and aquatic wildlife
• 5 out of the 7 sites are forest tracts, even though a facility like this is better suited for an industrial area
• When operating at full capacity 190 trucks a day will be in and out of the facility (30 more if both the OPF & MMF is built on the same site)

Has the County looked at pneumatic waste collection? Some of the big factors are reduction in CO2 emissions, no waste trucks needed to collect waste, huge cost savings, limited manpower to operate.
To cut down all these trees and destroy our precious few woodlands when alternative sites are available is short-sighted and poor decision making. This belongs in an industrial area, not a rural residential area with school buses, recreation, quiet neighbors and peace.
those SC forest tracts have shared use agreements to allow residents to use the forest for health and recreational purposes. it makes sense to prioritize the non-forest areas for the OPF facility.
My husband was raised in Craighurst and we were married there... leave the small town small!!!! They don't need the noise or traffic... move it to a more neutral area!
I walk this property daily and see so much beauty and wildlife from deer and partridge, to beavers and wild turkeys. Please do not destroy this for us and future generations.

I have lived in Midhurst my entire life. The forests were a huge part of my childhood where we would go for walks and toboggan. It is what makes this community special. Lets preserve this for future generations
