Help us save The Co-operative Pharmacy.
You may have seen on the news that the Co-op Pharmacy are to sell all their stores. This will lead to 100's of job losses and branch closures.
Established in 1945, The Co-operative Pharmacy is the third largest chemist in the UK with 750 branches and 6500 staff.
Boots and Lloyds and too big to buy all the stores as a group so that means a foreign investor is the most likely to buy and just want to make a quick profit without any regard for customers and staff.
Our aim is to take our petition to Euan Sutherland at One Angel Sq. in Manchester and make the company see sense by keeping the pharmacy part of the Co-operative group. After all we did make a profit last year and with the help of our loyal staff and customers (some of whom have used the Co-op pharmacy since the beginning) we can make an even bigger contribution to the health of the company.

The prospect of a foreign investor purchasing our pharmacy branches remains a grave concern for the future of our staff and community. I have been carefully reading the testimonials left by those who rely on these local services every day. We are working to ensure these accounts reach the leadership team at One Angel Square.

The momentum behind this effort has grown beyond my initial expectations. It is clear that the community values the presence of our local pharmacies and the dedicated staff who serve us.

As a customer and member of the co-op I'm horrified by the wholesale sell out of co-operative values. Please think again and stop.

A profitable business? Let's keep it in the Co-op family! If it has to be sold, let it be to another Co-operative. Or as many branches as possible.
