I cannot believe that the council are now backtracking on their commitment. This building is part of the local history and as such it is is cherished. It needs to be saved for the community to use.

It's a landmark and tells the history of an era gone, what happened to British values, preserving our heritage, guess it doesn't matter if it's a low_socioeconomic and mixed ethnic minority community. We always complain about the lack of diversity in these ghettos but where did all the native white Caucasian neighbours go? SOS or rather SOCT (Save Our Clock Tower)!

I have been to mount pleasant school and it is a shame if this has to go down it is a landmark of Lockwood. And also is educational for the children at mount pleasant to see the clock and learn the time when they are outdoors.

Why are old historic buildings in lower demographic not worth saving by this council. Why is this historic building not listed???

This has been a iconic structure since throughout the 1900's, especially for us locals. would be an absolute shame to see it go in such a way.
