I can't for one minute believe that this would happen. The charmers are and important part of Sanger High School. May not have always been big in numbers but has always had big hearts. Had it not been for Charmers girls like my daughter would have gotten lost in the crowd in high school. She was a very shy girl with a stuttering problem. Charmers gave her the confidence and family she needed to feel like she had a placeand a purpose in high school. KEEP THE CHARMERS. Not everythng is about money.

Wow. This is what it's come to? I can't imagine Sanger without the Charmers. I will do whatever I can to help, this is ridiculous. Who's behind it? What's the reasoning?
I have a family that is 30+ strong that I would have never had without the Charmers. It's what kept me out of trouble through high school and pushed me to make good grades. It means a lot and this is heartbreaking.

This is the one thing that I enjoyed in high school. I loved dancing and still do. I loved being out on the field, the competitions, and spring shows. I have a lot of GREAT memories of drill team. They can't get rid of drill team, it was the best thing about high school. I was a drill team member all four years that is how much I loved it. I am signing this petition saying don't get rid of drill team. Line: 2006 - 2010

Drill team was the highlight of my high school career. I made so many friends that have stuck with me throughout high school and beyond. I learned respect, discipline, and even how to count to eight! (Dance joke) please sign this petition so that sanger can keep their drill team and many more young ladies can experience what so many of us did.

The Cherokee Charmers are an important part of Sanger's tradition. To cancel the Charmers, is to send a message to Sanger's students and alumni that tradition is not important. That's just not a good message. Our tradition of excellence should always include the Charmers.

For what it's worth... To dance means everything to me. There is no greater feeling than hitting the stage (or taking the field) after weeks or even months of hard work, dedication, and determination and getting to show your audience what you can do and how far you've come. I was on drill team in high school, I was a competitive dancer until I graduated from my studio, and now I have gone on to further my education in dance as I am currently working to get my degree in a fine arts teaching program. I truly believe that dance is not only a sport, or art but also a way of life. I believe working hard on a dance team teaches its students important characteristics such as motivation, self discipline, integrity, confidence and so much more. As a dancer, I can say it would be an absolute shame to see a team like this get dis-continued after so many years of dedication not only to it's school, but also to its community. I could only hope to be able to teach my own team as well as them some day. Save the Drill Team!

As a former charmer I can tell you that this group needs to stay alive! It helps young women strengthen their self esteem and also can create life long friends. My years on the drill team were some of the best in high school, and I'm sure almost all of the girls that have been apart of this team would tell you the same. SAVE THE CHARMERS!!

Being a close friend to two current members, and one alum, I have loved getting to watch these girls grow. It looks like so much fun to participate, which other girls should be allowed the chance to do. Simply just canceling it because no one could tryout isn't fair. At least give them a chance. Dance is way of expression. These girls show immense dedication, drive, and a positive attitude. The current members and the past have worked too hard to build this up to let it all fall.
