My Daughter is a previous student and my niece is a current student at Brooker. I believe in once a Brave always a Brave. We need to spend time and resources on making schools better and not rewriting history. SAVE THE BRAVES!

I was a student at Brooker during their 50th Anniversary and I had the honor to present a speech about the history of the school and Florida itself. I am now an upcoming junior at Bloomingdale High School and it breaks my heart how this has become an issue now after 58 years of the school standing tall. I am spreading the word for past students who attended this school to sign the petition. ONCE A BRAVE, ALWAYS A BRAVE!

I am an alumni of Brooker. I do not want the mascot to change. There's nothing wrong with the mascot being the Braves.

I was a Brooker Brave, my Grandma taught at Brooker. A cartoon version of a young brave is wholesome and completely acceptable for elementary school mascot. Honor and Bravery. With zero complaints our superintendent who has much more important matters to attend to decides to take on Native American symbols in our schools. Our state has a Native American history and to assume people are offended before a single complaint has been made seems like PC grandstanding. You may want to consider budget issues, students having to walk to school on unsafe roads without proper lighting before you worry about removing a Brave as a mascot. This is insanity
