Please don’t tear down this theatre! our family goes to the movies here at least once a month. It's great to have choice se in Berkeley and not have to drive to Emeryville to see a movie.

It will be a real tragedy to lose the Shattuck. Ive been going there for 25 years. There is not other theater like it possible even in the Bay area. It shows unique cultural films for filmophiles. If you want to see Ninga Turtles go to the AMC, For serious films the Shattuck must stay.

My family has enjoyed this theater for years, the most beautiful in Berkeley, and the only cinema with balcony seating. It shows international and independent cinema. Berkeley will be a poorer place to live without it. This is a terrible place to put an 18-story building.

The Landmark Shattuck Theatre is a well beloved, much used cultural and historical landmark and job provider in our community. Recently placed luxury condos in downtown Berkeley are gentrifying our traditionally family-friendly and student-friendly town, making it more and more difficult to afford to live in and enjoy our own neighborhoods. Landmark Shattuck Theatre makes community entertainment and the arts affordable and accessible here. They're deeply entrenched in our community, often participating in local film festivals or local filmmakers' screenings. Their choice of films, from quirky indie movies to classic film noir to animated family fare, reflect our community's diverse interests and offer us that which big commercial chain movie theaters lack. Please protect and preserve the gem that is the Landmark Shattuck Theatre. Thank you.

Do not demolish Shattuck Cinemas. That building and theater are a great boon to the city of Berkeley and to its residents.

As someone who has grown up in the east bay, both oakland and berkeley I hate to see such staples such as the theaters lost amung the beaty of down town berkeley. We are slowly starting to lose the progressive forward thinking grass roots community that started to bloom here as kis who were born in the late 80's and 90's start to move on with their lives. their generation from other regions decened upon berkeley and thus the vuluture property owners don't see the great glories berkeley. instead all they see is money signs. We are better then this.

I was born and raised in Berkeley, growing up going to this theatre. It would change the atmosphere of the neighborhood drastically, I am completely against closing it down.
