The Shattuck theaters are the main reason I visit downtown Berkeley. Afterwards I eat at
a local restaurant. Apartment houses are a dime a dozen. Movie palaces like the ones at
Shattuck are an endangered species and we should treasure them.

We are lured to Berkeley from Oakland by the many offerings of the Shattuck Theaters. They make Berkeley special.

These cinemas are a treasure and resource to the east bay. The buildings are architecturally unique. The theaters bring business and people to Berkeley's downtown. To build a large condominium would destroy the character of Berkeley's downtown. Please stop this awlful project.

Ugh...Berkeley does NOT need a luxury apartment building. I take kids to Habotot all the time, this is a disservice to all who live and pay taxes here. If this happens, guarantee that I will make sure those who vote if favor for this destruction will not get my vote..

I depend on the City of Berkeley to keep its reputation for refusing to be seduced by money and spoil our city. It makes me sad to know that the city council is even considering the blight and problems that this project at 2211 Harold Way would cause. PLEASE resist the money. Please reconsider and stop this awful project.

This is a heartless and selfish act, and should not be allowed to come to pass! I may not have ever been to the Berkeley Shattuck Cinemas, but the emotions and the love for this place speaks loudly within this petition and I will join the fight to protect this place that is so dear to the people's hearts and hopefully, one day, I can visit this wonderful place myself!
