The Shattuck CInemas are a Berkeley treasure, they bring people to nearby businesses and contribute to the vibrant art and film culture in downtown Berkeley which is it's one saving grace. If that goes there remain very few (affordable) reasons to frequent that part of Berkeley.

The Shattuck is a cultural institution for film lovers. As other art houses close, there are precious few venues for lovers of foreign and artistic films. Please consider the well-being of the art of the film!

Puh-leez! Save the Shattuck Theaters and don't build another humongous apartment building in downtown Berkeley! There is enough traffic and infill already. Let's honor what's important in making Berkeley a place that's good to live in. I attend the Shattuck Theater at least 2xs/month and would sorely miss it!
