Book learning is no substitute for practical, hands-on training and experience. All forms of agricultural work are inherently dangerous; these dangers can only be mitigated by practical experience under the guidance of experienced teachers. If you restrict teaching to books then you run the risk of excluding able candidates who may be dyslexic from entering their chosen profession.

As a member of the Scottish Rally team, the Barony has, for many years been an important part of the event. Whilst a move to the Crichton Campus might not be a massive issue for us, the physical location of the Barony is actually quite important for the logistics of running the event.
It would be a great loss to see this site closed.

I was a lecturer and course tutor at Barony College for 13 years. It has been of great benefit to many students over the years and would be a great loss to the region if it closed.

The Barony has played host to the 'Scottish Rally' for many years now. Providing excellent facilities and in turn bringing spectators and competitors to the surrounding area. The cash and business this event generates goes to show how important and diverse a role this building plays .

This is utter madness - an agricultural college in a perfect site for all these years now being moved to an urban area. Is the land being sold for housing development.? My daughter as educated there and it was the most wonderful place for her to live work and most importantly learn

The Barony has an excellent and well deserved reputation; it is vitally important for the future development of Scotland's forestry sector. Their 'can-do' approach is to be applauded. The Barony campus must not be allowed to close.
