The barony college changed my life. I have so many happy memories i will never forget. I met my partner there 6 years ago, we are still a happy family now with a child. The best part about this college was the practicals set within the farm. it's a unique and individual college where it is ideally situated for agricultural and animal care type courses. You cant take a farm with you to a town, or a farm/fish farm or horse stables or even a forest. Thats the great thing about the barony, the opportunities and the location. Moving it will be tragic for future generations losing out.

I think it's disgraceful too close the barony and move it into town

How can you teach rural affairs in an urban environment? Relocating to town is a ridiculous idea!

Must not be allowed. If they want their students to be able to access other Crichton establishments then block certain days for them to do so. It's called "time tabling".

I really hope Barony does not close I have lots of found memories of my time there in 2003-2004 and still talk about it today! Save Barony it would be a tragedy if this campus was to close.

To relocate an establishment such as the Barony, that strives to go above and beyond any other college of its kind in the country would be a crime!! The Barony has a recognised ethos that works because of the staff, structure and the surroundings it is unique in what it has and should be rewarded not destroyed!

I attended the Barony for 3 years and am amazed that living in such an agricultural area and the amount of good publicity from past and present students that they would even think about relocating it, it is in the perfect most realistic area within Dumfries and Galloway. As someone who has worked as a staff nurse within old ward I do not believe it would be viable to have a agricultural college within an old asylum setting. Many buildings within the Crichton were not fit for purpose as both wards and as student classrooms for UWS students so why all of a sudden is it a suitable substitute for Barony college. Is the government willing to grant loans to modernise the inside of some of these buildings and make them wind and water tight?
