My daughter is in her second year at this colleges. It means living away from home, but the experience has been invaluable. The ability to learn first hand working along side farmers tending to new lambs and calfs and from experience from the wild life hospital - the only one of it's kind attached to a college - is too special and too precious to be lost, which it would be if the college moved to an 'in town' location. The forestry and agricultural subjects taught also need to be located where they are. It's a no brainer! Barony is needed right where it is!

SRUC should consider the long term financial implications and not lose such a valuable asset.

One of the best rural colleges I have been to. Had the best 3 yrs of my life and made many great friends for life. Don't take this away from others who deserve a great education and a chance to fulfil their dreams.

It would be a terrible idea to shut the barony. It is its own world and can never be replaced. It's an experience in itself that you won't be able to find anywhere else.

I am currently at the barony college it's beautiful where it is! If they move it then what will it turn in to? It's for animal care, forestry, farming etc not for urban environment!!!

A member of Barony staff who has conerns over the lack of a strategic business plan for the vocational areas that would remain within Sruc should any move away from the the current location occur. Our industries need the practical skills and knowledge that the Barony facility offers as evidenced in the land based strategy document. Not apparent how this need could be met at the Crichton campus from any communication by the management to date.

The barony has all it's charm and space for every course where it is. Students will lose out on so much practical if they move
