Please save the college, it does so much to educate people about our environment and how to protect it. It would be such a shame to lose it.

This would be the wrong decision on the part of SRUC. Barony has an excellent reputation and is also a key part of D&G life. To close Barony would give a lesser educational experience to students and would detract from D&G more generally.

If we allow this to happen it would be bad for the whole of D&G

I studied at the Barony and I would again it is the perfect location for the courses that is specialises in anywhere else would just be pointless, it has working farms on site so students don't just get textbook learning or spend time travelling for hands on experience it's all in the one area and a perfect area!

Save this wonderful place. My son went here to study rural mechanics and agriculture engineering. and loved every minute. He felt respected and valued, learnt impressive skills and made some great friends. This place is invaluable, the rural setting is appropriate for the type of courses it offers and it is well known and respected from far and wide. Pupils come from all over the country and beyond and it would be impractical to move it to an urban environment, losing the ambience of the rural setting, the practical hands on experience and expertise of some tutors. It is also an integrated part of the community welcoming local school children, organising open days and paying visits to local organisations.

Moving from its excellent built-for-purpose campus to the Crichton will kill off the Barony and its long history of vital service to the rural and local community, and to young people's choices of land based careers.

I was at the Barony from 2003 to 2006. It was one of the best experiences of my life and helped me through my toughest years, it will be a crying shame if this experience is lost forever

Its a crazy idea to even consider relocating the barony. It should remain where it is.
