It sounds like the decision is being taken for financial and NOT educational reasons.

It was the barony that first introduced me to hill farming as I was at an agriculture collage in cambribrigeshire which was mostly arable and pigs, we came to visit the barony for a week and I fell in love with the area, I came back 2 years later and became a shepherd, moving it in to a town will mean the lose of every thing it stands for and students will lose the hands on experience that the farm there gives, which is the only way to learn about farming

Lots of students go to the barony because it is in a rural location, its great practical facilities and close knit community. It is ridiculous to move into town, not to mention the job losses. I hope the petition makes the right people see sense.

how can you train woodcutters, farmers ,etc in the town ,this will make that side of the town even worse than it is now, will there be large agricultural vehicles needing to go through the town. leave it rural as you are teaching rural things

Barony has helped thousands of students from all over Scotland for years, How can you teach people rural skills in a metropolitan area? What nonsense!
