Stop the brain drain: save NRW's library at Maes-y-Ffynnon

Please respect education

As both a librarian and an environmentalist I’m against the closure of this library.

It would be a crying shame should this resource be closed

Its yet another exampl;e of WG not caring for CCW ( sorry NRW) !

Though never a member of staff of NRW, CCW etc,, I have often contributed voluntarily yo its work and library, and consider that its closure would be a disastrous loss of environmental information.

Closing this library with its valuable collection of texts would be a tragedy.

Why closure? Surely people will help on a voluntary basis? They do for countless other charities.

It is such a retrograde step to close a library such as this one and at a time when nature needs boosting in any way that it can. The human interaction available at a library opens up wider perspectives to the student than will ever be achieved on line alone, including keeping morale high.

Rehome the collection intact.

Short sighted policy.

NRW are being decimated, we must act now to help save our environment.

It’s dumb to close libraries

Science libraries play a critical role for researchers and the public. Information is often documented in theses and unpublished reports, which cannot be located online, and science journals often have paywalls, making them inaccessible to many. This is where libraries are much needed, along with staff who offer advice and expertise in seeking information.

We must respect knowledge and share it. More than the sum of its parts.

It would be foolish and a backward step to make cuts to provisions and jobs at a well regarded library and academic resource.

This is a unique and valuable resource that so many people, both NRW employees and external scientists and policymakers utilize. Please keep this fantastic library going so that we can all continue to use this incredibly important resource of knowledge & information for years to come.
