Please save this vital resource!

Without a well-funded and staffed library the knowledge gained from past conservation experience and research will not be available for those in future to use and benefit from in their work. Please keep the NRW library to enable environmental protection to continue to be knowledge based.

Please do think again. So much of this collection will not be available online, and even if it were, unmitigated reliance on e-resources has many drawbacks that are being ignored. Talk to the experts who use the library, the experts who manage it and the wider communities who are served by access to this key knowledge resource. Our natural world is under enormous pressures, please do not add to them.

Please do not do away with this vital resource

It is vital to keep this essential source of environmental information curated and open for researchers and the public to consult. Sound science needs people to be able to read original publications.

All libraries shoul be open access, What is the point of having information if you don't share it?

NRW needs to consider that its duty to the wider public includes things like libraries.

Yet another confirmation that the creation of NRW was one of the biggest mistakes of the Welsh Government. Things can only get worse for nature conservation and environmental protection as expertise and knowledge are degraded further.

It’s a really important resource and deserves to be funded.

We must save this Ecological asset.

I benefitted hugely from the (as was) CCW library in Hafod Elfyn when I was an undergrad and post-grad student in Bangor 20+ years ago and as a CCW/NRW employee have been using it on a regular basis ever since. This an invaluable resource and its planned closure, along with the loss of librarians and data custodians is a short-sighted and retrograde step. Shame on NRW.

Wales should not have to depend on other countries for data

Libraries are essential points of reference for organisations such as NRW, universities & many others

The strength of an organisation is based in its roots, its culture, and a commitment to evidence-based truth. A good library is essential to maintain this, and to support those in pursuit of these core values.

There is so much in that library which will not have been digitised and put on-line, so will be lost to science and conservation if the library is closed and its librarian/evidence custodian lost. NRW should be looking forwards, not backwards.
