Malcolm Munroe Junior High’s Musical Department will lose one of its’ key positions – 2nd Musical Director, effective . In order for our students to access all of the opportunities currently offered in our music education program, two Music Directors are required. Do not cut this job!
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board to act now to maintain the 2nd Musical Director’s Position currently held by Mrs. Delynn Reid, at Malcolm Munroe Jr. High School in Sydney NS
im still waiting for an actual response from the school board but silence just proves why these music programs are so fragile right now. keep reading the stories people are leaving in the comments because it shows exactly how much mrs reid and this second position really mean to the students.

i honestly cant believe how fast this is moving. seeing everyone jump in to protect mrs reid and our music program confirms that we are doing the right thing. the momentum is real and i am just grateful for all of you.

This is terrible. The students need to be able to learn their instruments properly and one person cant do it all.

Music kept me in school back in the day. Dont take that away from current kids just to save a few bucks.

Mrs. Reid does so much for the kids. Two directors is the bare minimum for a program this size. Ridiculous.

Fix the budget elsewhere. Music and arts are the first things people try to kill and its always a mistake.

My son loves the band program at Malcolm Munroe and it would be a huge loss to cut this role. Keep her on!
