This is a national issue which will be of direct concern to the people of Tendring District Council when DEFRA "rolls out" its culling policy in 2014.
The object of the petition is to ensure that Tendring District Council's badger population is as safe as possible from slaughter and that the already available injectable badger vaccine against bTB is used in as many cases as possible.
We ask this because we believe the culling policy is inhumane (DEFRA's measurement of "humaneness" is to time the screams of wounded badgers), inefficient (previous culls showed an increase in bTB because of badger movement) and unscientific (the majority of scientific opinion hold that a cull will have "no meaningful result").

We, the undersigned, call on Tendring District Council to prohibit the culling of badgers on council-owned land and invest in vaccination programmes locally. We ask this because we believe culling to be inhumane, inefficient and unscientific.

The cull is pointless and totally flawed. To cull you must erdicate bTB not achieve a tiny reduction. Vaccination is the way foward along with tight and clean farming husbandry!!
TB in cattle is only due to the movement of cattle and current blood tests being no good, need to introduce new ones that are efficient. Badgers are not the problem and should not be culled, previous cull did not work, stop this murder of badgers, it's wrong and cruel.
I think we need to educate the people who are supposeto be running this country!Badger culling is cruel and senseless, leave the badgers alone, and concentrate on greed and coruption in this goverment!!
This methodology has been shown to be flawed both in theory and in practice. There can be no logical reason to pursue this as a workable policy
Utterly pointless exercise, use the vaccine, culliong has absolutely no scientific basis for adoption.
No more wasting innocent animal's lives and ignoring the reality of the situation.
Stop this barbaric cull. Vaccinations not murder!!
