I graduated from Stanton last year and im sure other Stanton students would agree when I say that the band is something that made the experience at Stanton that much better. What would the pep rallies & games be without our band?

I wouldn't want the band or anything else for my senior year to be different from what I've been use to for the past 3 years of my life, even though much of it has already changed, but the band should never have to change. They are ones that rally everyone up for any event. Stanton needs to keep the same style of band to keep some form of tradition and I would hate to see the school change even more than it already has been.

This is my third year as a majorette, and my year to be captain. The band has meant a lot to me these past couple of years, it's been my escape from reality just like listening to music is somebody else's way of getting away from the real world for a while. Honestly, being a majorette is what's kept me sane. My baton is my third arm and my bestfriend. Taking that away from me and expecting me to just drop my talent to twirl rifles and flags.. without even asking how I felt about it is just rude. And I'm not just speaking for me, there are seniors who get to shine this year but won't get that chance because our tradition marching band is being taken from them. Stanton band has changed lives, people come to the football games for the band. We get asked frequent questions, from even the cheerleaders "Are you guys playing Quiet Storm?" "OMG please play Ice Cream Man, I love that song!" Taking away our marching band isn't just affecting the people in the band, but it's affecting the students too.

As a 3 year member if the band I speak not only for myself but for everybody that we have proven that with a hbcu traditional marching band that we are unique talented and can also score superior in completions. By doing this you are leaving behind many years of tradition from those currently at stanton and are hoping to come!! #savestantonband

This is a great program that gave those who weren't into sports an opportunity to find friends who accepted them. Everyone loves the band

The Stanton marching band is one of the oldest and greatest traditions in the school's history. Modifying the marching style would be a significant cultural loss to the community. The band has shaped the lives of countless men and women. Alumni such as myself have always charged the younger generation to carry on the band's standards and legacy. Current and future students should be given the opportunity to do so.

Stanton Band should never change. Even though I've been there for only one year, I still find traditional more enjoyable with the football performances and pep rallies

I am a music major and educator and have seen first hand the impact of music on peoples lives. Music should never be taken out of any school.
