Former Stanton Band member. It would truly be a travesty to see this band move away from its rich tradition.

The popular tradition of fast-stepping and highly precise musicians has always been a big hit in the Jacksonville communities and a source of pride for former band directors, former band members, and the Duval County Music Program. The band has always had marching notoriety. Through the years, the band has achieved extraordinary artistic success and superior ratings in marching, and concert at state competitions. Why not continue to drive the band in the same direction of accomplishments. The history of the Marching Blue Devils is a long and glorious one. To change this tradition is an insult to our beloved "Mr Mac", the band directors who succeeded him, former band members, and all the people who care about Stanton and continue to show their love, prude and support to the school. Keep the spirit alive, don't destroy it!!!!

I was a Majorette for Stanton band and it was my favorite high school memory. It would be so sad to see the spirit of this band change in such a dramatic way.

Music is a hobby, a talent, and a lifestyle. Being able to make music is an amazing experience, and those of us who want to learn should not be stripped of that opportunity.
