Sr. Maggie was a huge part of my childhood, she influenced me and other students in so many positive ways. Borromeo would not be the same without her.

Our parish school needs to do what's best for all of the students it serves and the entire Borromeo Parish community. Sometimes that doesn't involve enrollment numbers, cost-cutting, or the budget. Sometimes it means just doing what is right and what is necessary. Sr. Maggi is a vital component to the high quality educational system we have in place here at Borromeo. Losing Sr. Maggi would be doing a tremendous disservice to every student and family in our school, especially during the all too important middle school years. She is instrumental to the spiritual, as well as the academic guidance of the school, students, and staff. Find another way to allocate the funds to maintain the quality of our parish school by keeping Sr. Maggi employed for many years to come. After all, isn't that what social justice is all about?

I constantly believe that Sr. Maggi truly represents the best of God's blessings unto our children and to our school. If the decision to remove her is driven by financial constraints, we as a school must come together to innovate a remedy--she matters that much to the people of this school. Now is the time for everyone who cares about this issue to become engaged in the options.

I had sister maggi while attending borromeo back in 1999. She was wonderful and would be a shame to lose such an amazing asset!

I graduated from Borromeo in 2000, to this day Sr. Maggie is the BEST teacher I've ever had and any student who has the privilege of being in her class is beyond lucky. She made an impact on my life and I will always remember her as one of the best!

We've just learned that Sr. Maggi's contract will not be renewed next year, after 30 years of outstanding service to Borromeo, and during a time of transition with new leadership next year. I'm sure this will be deleted as other comments have been, however I believe parents, parish members and former students should know the HUGE MISTAKE Borromeo is choosing to make.
In the words of a former student, now a college freshman, "Sr, Maggi runs Borromeo. She IS Borromeo". If children are struggling (learning or behavior-wise), or need extra stimulation and enrichment to meet their needs, Sr. Maggi is the one who handles ALL of it. She is able to meet children's needs at both ends of the spectrum and all points in between.
She is also the easiest and most accessible member of the Borromeo administration BY FAR, and communicates with ease with both parents and students alike. Former students come back to Borromeo to visit often, and the first people they go and visit are Sr. Maggi and Mr. D. Losing Sr. Maggi will be a HUGE and immeasurable loss. Shame on Borromeo. SHAME.
I would post the link to the i-petition to save Sr. Maggi --- with many, many outraged current and former parents, students and community members--but it seems that someone else has already tried to post it here and it is now blocked. Sr. Maggi has been such a wonderful part of Borromeo. She has dedicated her teaching career to the students there and was such an amazing teacher to me. I am saddened that the school could treat her this way. She deserves much better.
