We are all supposed to be conscious about pollution so let's close local facilities and move them 10 mile away at our expense.

How can Leyland children access facilities outside town? We currently can't get to swim because of all the schools using Leyland pool - how could reduced facilities even cope with the numbers of schools?

Upgrading the existing leisure centres, which are in our communities, is better than building a brand new super facility in the middle of nowhere.

Just upgrade the existing leisure centres it would be less expensive than building a new complex and continue to serve the local communities.

The leisure centres serve their local areas and the people in those areas, a single large centralised centre would disadvantage the less well off people in those areas.

PLC is a vital community hub, for young and old alike. It is an extremely popular local facility for the people of Penwortham. Swimming lessons are always fully booked, however, moving them to Farrington would see a great reduction in after school swimming classes due to the time/distance to get there.

At the moment I am able to walk to this leisure center. As I use public transport, and the 115 (Penwortham to Leyland) has now ceased, this would mean catching 2 uses.

I use Penwortham and wouldn't use one in Leyland. Pushing people to use over priced private gyms.

Come on, who do you want to do more exercise. Not the already fit gym bunnies who have cars and will drive to your new facility. You need the local leisure centres to get the oldies in, and the families without transport. They are the ones who need the exercise to keep your public health profile up and your health costs down.

As a weekly visitor to PLC I strongly object to the possibility of closure. These Leisure Centres are vital to the local community.

Given the governments promotion of health, wellbeing and preventative exercise. This is a very short sighted policy. Have the published what subs would be to find them properly?

Please don't close the leisure centres. Government are saying we need to keep active and fit, yet you are suggesting closing and Leyland is nowhere near Penwortham particularly if you don't drive.

I use Penwortham leisure centre 3 times a week. In retirement it's easy to get to and affordable.
Don't close this local service.

We need this leisure centre it would be a disaster to close it. Local nursery schools take their children swimming there and it's a huge success, my son goes with Whitefriars nursery every week during my working hours. We need to encourage young children to go to these leisure centres, not close them.

The closure of leisure centres must not happen - it is simply wrong!

These leisure centres need to stay so they can be used by the whole community, young & old alike.
