This is a threat to all recreational cricket clubs based on Council owned grounds. Once one Council forces the closure of a cricket club, then many others will follow. That cannot be allowed to happen.

Shenfield Cricket Club are a vital part of the community. Every club has to scrimp and scrape for every penny of income. Denying them these monies will seriously damage them.

A good family oriented cricket club shouldn't be lost because of revenue. Keep the club open for the community and Brentwood Borough Council should encourage the local kids to join and become members, instead of causing trouble because they are bored. Team work and self worth, over crime and destruction,
