This Club is far too important to the local community to allow Brentwood Borough Council to asset strip it and push it closer to the brink.

Great club! Very family oriented. Always something going on with kids during week nights. Always welcomed in for a coffee when stopping off mid dog walk. Absolute tragedy if facilities like this are impeded from operating, especially by those that are meant to be protecting amenity access.

We support SCC in their cause and can say it is one of the most friendly and welcoming clubs we have had the pleasure to attend. The junior section of the club is huge and looks to bring in many senior players for the future; this would be so disappointing for the community as a whole to lose such an important and influential Club.

I've umpired at Shenfield CC on a number of occasions and have always been impressed with the warmth of the welcome from the Club and its members. The Club has spent decades building itself in to an asset for the local community, and for the Essex-wide cricketing community. That the local council is now following a course of action that could potentially close the club defies belief. Has no one at Brentwood Borough Council read and understood the mandate of Sport England ?

When we should all be encouraging more participation in sports there are bureaucrats making that more difficult. Think again Brentwood Council, shame on you.

Sport clubs are a huge benefit to the community and the council should be actively supporting this. Your actions will only work towards destroying the community and you should therefore cease your current proposed course of action.

The Council are not interested in community sport (run by dedicated volunteers) except as a cash cow. Hereunder the only reference to cricket on their website,
Presumably they have in mind a re- location?
"Cricket -King George's Playing Fields (artificial wicket), Ingrave Road, Brentwood Essex Changing rooms and showers are available to hire.
Please note the allocation of this facility is now administered by Brentwood Rugby Football Club. Please contact the club on 01277 210267 for further details."

What a short sighted , short term profit making idea . How will this help improve health in the local population....especially the young ? . Leave our community assets alone !
