The media constantly report about just how many hours children spend indoors on electronic devices and the rise of obesity. With this in mind, how can a Council even contemplate that shutting down an alternative facility that offers all the family, the opportunity to be outside, keeping fit and networking social skills?

I would have thought the local council would wish to support the local community projects like clubs. Obviously they would sooner have kids on street corners rather than enhancing the community. I'm

Great club, good memories playing there. Cricket clubs need protecting not destroying! Growing up as a colt playing cricket was much more fun than hanging around the high street!

Clubs like Shenfield Cricket Club are incredibly important to the community and must be protected. They teach the local children the value of team sports and give them a healthy and enjoyable past time that they can carry with them throughout their lives.

How short-sighted of bureaucracy! Shenfield Cricket Club embraces other communities, attracting all sections of faith, class & ages to the locality. Brentwood Council should be contributing to the facilities not depriving them.

My colleague volunteers at this cricket club and I am a huge supporter of places for both adults and children to partake in sporting activities. This benefits communities and people's health. It is essential that we don't put access to our green spaces at risk!

SCC must be saved and no way be forced to close down. If it is closed by BCC, they are killing the game of Cricket for the kids of today and the kids of tomorrow. There could well be a kid that goes on to become a future Essex/England player, not to mention the fact that Cricket is very much part of our English tradition.
