Dear Mayor Gimenez and Commissioner Barreiro, the residents of Shenandoah Neighborhood urge you to re-consider the closing of the Shenandoah Branch Library which recently underwent a $1.5M renovation. We feel that the closing of this library would demonstrate a complete mismanagement of public funds and more importantly would put those most vulnerable in our community, children and the elderly, at a clear disadvantage; and create a severe reduction in the quality of life for all of our residents. On any given day, the Shenandoah Branch Library is thriving with activity, from the use of computers, to children and young people playing and studying. We strongly request that the library services in our recently beautifully renovated facility remain open for many years to come.
