Save Ridgewood Outdoor Dining
Please pledge your support for Ridgewood outdoor dining! Ridgewood Village Council will not allow outdoor dining corrals to continue beyond March 31st.
Please sign the petition and write to Ridgewood Village Council members to communicate your support for the outdoor dining corrals.
The council will remove outdoor dining and reinstate the very small number of parking spots they currently occupy, 18 on street parking spaces. These spaces offer approx 150 dining spaces, that can be turned over multiple times per day (weather permitting). That is hundreds of diners sat for 60-90 minutes or more just a few feet away from retail stores, window displays and shopping opportunities.
Outdoor dining has been a huge success for Ridgewood setting it apart from other CBDs and bringing vital revenues and opportunities into Ridgewood.
There appears to be zero rationale or business case for making this decision and it should not be left in the hands of just the village council to arbitrarily decide on a matter that have ramifications across our community. At a time the CBD already have multiple empty units, our restaurants with outdoor dining are what attracts residents and visitors, generating significant income and opportunities.
We must save our outdoor dining and continue to invest in our CBD, not take a huge step backwards.
