This is a national issue which will be of direct concern to the people of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council when DEFRA "rolls out" its culling policy in 2014.
The object of the petition is to ensure that Reigate and Banstead Borough Council's badger population is as safe as possible from slaughter and that the already available injectable badger vaccine against bTB is used in as many cases as possible.
We ask this because we believe the culling policy is inhumane (DEFRA's measurement of "humaneness" is to time the screams of wounded badgers), inefficient (previous culls showed an increase in bTB because of badger movement) and unscientific (the majority of scientific opinion hold that a cull will have "no meaningful result").
To preserve the integrity of this petition please only sign it if you live, work or study in the Reigate and Banstead Borough Council area.

The cull has been proved as being inhumane, even when done by authority of the Government. It has also been proven that the cull cannot be done efficiently. Vaccination is the way forward.
Culling badgers is cruel and unnecessary, with no scientific support whatsoever.
I wrote to Crispin Blunt - he is on the shoot 'em side unfortunately. Wrote a long reply full of waffle.
No scientific proof whatsoever - cruel and inhuman. They do no harm unlike man. Use our money on other things please.
The badger cull is unscientific and inhumane
The cull hasn't worked in there areas plus the real cost has been published this week, why not save lives and cash too in one go?
I very much hope that crispin blunt will oppose this unscientific cull.

I live very close to your borough & have several relatives that do live there, Nobody wants this to happen, only Defra!? Clearly the testlast year was a fiasco, the cull must not be continued!!
