The developer just pulled their permit application and Pink Floyd is officially staying right where it belongs. We forced those corporate hacks to back down and save these trees. Keep your eyes peeled because we are watching this property like hawks from here on out.

Pink Floyd is a majestic Grand Oak tree estimated to be well over 200 years old. The tree is located on Floyd St and we are trying to save the tree from the threat of the pink permit ribbon. The property was closed on yesterday and has been purchased by a developer. A tree permit is waiting in the wings so the developer can have the tree taken down. This beautiful oak is an icon in our neighborhood. There are several other grand oaks on the same property with pink ribbons a well. Please sign our petition to save Pink Floyd. Thank you!

The developer is hovering over a permit to destroy our neighborhood's history. We are on the verge of hitting 500 signatures and we need to hit that mark before they take the first swing. Push this link out to everyone you know right now because that tree cannot defend itself.

I was born and raised in this neighborhood. It's heartbreaking to watch the charm of this community be "developed" away. I really hope this tree can be saved. I hope it prompts reflection on how important the plants and animals we share our spaces with are.

This ancient oak should be preserved, development is threatening the character of our neighborhood and this tree is a symbol of that and more. I am a resident of Arlington park for 25 years, and it saddens me to see what this neighborhood is becoming.

Pink Floyd is a historic treasure that honors the wonderful native habitat legacy of Sarasota. Respect the earth and resist immediate individual financial greed. Be kind and share this stalwart giant with the community.

It takes hundreds of years for Live Oaks to grow like this. This is a defining feature of our city whose grandeur can't be replaced by a structure. If this tree comes down, it will be a tragedy for the people of Sarasota and visitors, present and future.

It should be a first degree felony to destroy such a magnificent work of art. Trees provide the oxygen we breathe, sequesters carbon, provides cool shade, provides habitat for wildlife, filters storm water, etc.

I have seen this far too often in Sarasota! These beautiful oaks are what gives our community its uniqueness and beauty. They cut down a gorgeous tree on the corner of Webber and Shade - made me so angry...just to put up a few little boxy homes. Build around this tree!!
