Saying it is losing too much money is simply the wrong solution . Cut costs , streamline the Management and make it the jewel of the crown in Moorends... Wake up and smell the coffee guys....

Councillors are elected to serve the electorate, and look after their interests. How do they then think that they have the right to personally make the decision to sell The Winning Post, which is a valuable amenity to the local people, as well as being such a well-loved historic building. Think again councillors - you are overstepping your remit by putting The Winning Post in the hands of an estate agent, without first consulting the people of Moorends, who ELECTED YOU.

A prized asset of the local area. As much a part of Thorne and Moorends as the colliery was. Treasure by the community groups that use it. This is not just another piece of spare land.

The Memories of the Winning post are very precious to me, I would hate to see it being torn down, It is a beautiful Building ,, Please look at the options for the Building before taking drastic steps.

Market the property so that it can become self supporting. Dont put all of the caretakers wages against the building because she works in other council building as well. It can be marketed so that it does not lose money. If rate payers are prepared to keep it then the council should listen to them.
