The town just confirmed that our public water taps are being restored. I am stunned by this news and fully recognize that this outcome belongs to all of you who stepped up.
We, the undersigned, request the Mayor and Council, of the
Town of Georgina, to immediately restore all Free Public Water Taps, with the
exception of installation of Backflow Preventers and unthreaded taps.
I truly never imagined that so many people felt the same way about our town water taps. This momentum belongs entirely to you and your willingness to speak up for our community.

If they have been open to residents previously they should not be closed. Period. It’s evident many people require this water source for daily use. Mitigation to deter/stop commercial would not be as difficult as they are making it seem.

I have lived in Georgina all my life. We never drink our well water due to smell of rotten eggs ( sulphur ), high iron content, and eColi some times of the year ( usually spring ). We rely on the municipal taps for drinking water. Please reverse this ridiculous decision and allow us drinking water.

My partner and I have a well and rely on the taps to fill our water jug for drinking water. It’s wasteful and expensive to buy water bottles all the time. Save the taps!

Ive been living here for 40 + years plus camp up here for 5 years before moving to Georgina. I always use the water supplied . I dont think its right to shut all but one. Also its not right we have to pay for s key to get our water. Why dont they hire someone to check make sure it's use properly and fine the people that using it illigally.

I use the municipal water at Black River & Park on a regular basis. It provides THE ONLY drinkable water to a hour of four occupants. We have a dug well that is always teeming with coliforms and no means to drill a new deeper one.

My family survived for 8 years on the town pumps due to a dry well. Finally we were able to get the funding for a new well. If not for the town well I would have been toting water from the lake and boiling it. Terribly way to live in this time of technology. No town water in Pefferlaw.

Everyone is entitled to clean safe water and for some people access to public water taps is the best option both financially and environmentally.
