The board finally reached the right decision and Mr. Fernandez is returning to his post. It was a long and draining struggle but I am grateful that we persisted. We need to stay alert to ensure this transition remains stable for our students.

Reaching this level of support has been a heavy experience that makes me feel less alone in this fight. I am exhausted by the constant obstacles but seeing this many people insist on the return of Mr. Fernandez keeps me going.

I agree with the public saying we will never have another superintendent that works hard for our education system..i have seen him literaly go to each school to making sure they are fixed up and ready to welcome every students and teachers..i dont think we will ever find anyone like him.
I don't even have kids or grandkids attending DOE but because I see positive things happening for the students, I am giving them the support they need to have someone backing them and that will be Mr. Jon Fernendez!
Jon Fernandez is a very good superatendent. He was always there for me when I was going through a lot of depression with my family. He always motivated me to do good and stay good. Without him being our superatendent our schools will feel like prison. WE NEED HIM !!
There have been so many positive things that Mr. Fernandez has done for DOE. All the hard work & dedication to bring the dept out of high risk status is going down the drain. He deserves to be given a chance to continue this forward monentum for the islands children.
Lack of transparency in the BoE decision-making process to terminate the superintendent makes the decision suspect. Politics has once again reared its ugly head where it is unwanted and only acts to damage an already struggling system.
He has done great things for our Department and he is the most accessible Superintendent we have ever had! (He frequently visits schools and is on Social media like Twitter and Facebook. He responds to student concerns and interacts and supports teachers.). With what I know about Mr. Fernandez and all of the wonderful things he has helped GDOE do, he should still be our Superintendent so he can continue to help us grow and improve.

The first superintendent ever to show his face around. The first superintendent to actually be invovled with the students not just in the office or by following the rules of GDOE. He took the extra mile to meet students and get their opinion on matters.
