MLA Kevin Murphy first announced on June 8th that his goal was to open a Health & Wellness complex in Gaetz Brook. This would mean relocating ESDH, Twin Oaks, The Birches and The Rink, ultimately gutting Musquodoboit Harbour.

Murphy recently stated:

"100 residents from all over the Eastern Shore have reached out to me directly, seeking clarification on the facts surrounding the tremendous opportunity to bring new infrastructure to the Eastern Shore. The vast majority of those residents now have a better understanding of the opportunities and the process, and the vast majority are positively interested in helping the project along."

We need to demonstrate that there are more than 100 residents on the Eastern Shore and many are not supporting this complex.

Sign this petition to show that you're against moving forward with this concept without proper community consultation, feasibility studies reviewing renovating the existing facilities and looking at options to build a similar campus in Musquodoboit Harbour.

im hearing from so many people who feel like their concerns are being completely ignored by the mla. they keep saying everyone is on board with this but clearly that isnt the truth at all.

the momentum we have right now is honestly incredible. it really proves that a lot more than a hundred people care about what happens to our home.

I know that this petition is not acceptable in the legislature but it is a good indicator of support for community consultation.

Keep our services in the village. Moving everything to Gaetz Brook makes no sense for the people who actually use these facilities.

We were never asked what we wanted. Why is he deciding this for us without talking to the actual community first?

He says 100 people want this but I have not met a single person around here who is in favor of moving the school.

Fix the buildings we have already. It would be cheaper and better than forcing everyone to drive further away.

The rink and the school are the heart of the harbor. DONT GUT OUR TOWN BECAUSE SOMEONE WANTS A SHINY NEW BUILDING.
