Our libraries and leisure centres are all slowly dying and now the government, in its wisdom, has decided that they should shut down our schools too? Like hell they are!

This will be a disaster for our children's education - I would rather pay more council tax than see cuts affecting schools like this.

spend more time trying to improve standards of education with what we already have instead of spending more money squeezing pupils into a small site and undoubtedly creating a poorer overall learning environment.

A laughable approach to education really. As someone who left Porth County 5 years ago, the school was struggling with class sizes even back. There are a number of areas that could and should be used better such as the CDT block which is without saying however to fit all those children into such a small space will have a massive impact on the teachers having the facilities to properly teach as the classes will be so busy that people won't be able to lead effectively. The only way I can this working is if Trehafod, Pontygwaith and Wattstown aren't taught in these locations and moved to the nearest schools to reduce over all numbers of children at the site.

Painting '20mph' signs on roads aren't addressing the road safety issues. The volume of traffic is going to be ridiculous. The site is not suitable. Do these people think these infant age children are able to be just 'dropped off'?

The school footprint is not big enough for the children to have decent playing areas and the traffic is already a nightmare without adding another 300 pupils.

What about the pupils from the Rhondda Fach that will be expected to travel either to Treorchy or Tonyrefail in order to get a sixth form education, who will foot the bill for travel expenses, what happens when the Penrhys mountain road closes at the first sign of snow, how does all this extra traffic help the environment, and why shoulf the children of the Fach be the ones who have to travel when they already have a perfectly adequate 6th form that is getting better results than some of the schools in the Fawr??

concerned there are no firm proposals -ill thought out and no concern for the health and safety of pupils travelling to these sites and their welfare/segration whilst at these new schools.

These plans are ludicrous. The site is simply not big enough to segregate the age groups efficiently. The traffic around Porth county is already horrendous, it would be even worse with the increased pupils, not to mention that parents of infants need to park and take their kids into school themselves, again the site is not big enough to provide sufficient provisions for this, and the surrounding community certainly can't accommodate that volume of traffic trying to park in its small side streets. There are more than a dozen other reasons why this is an appalling proposal, as put in my consultation form. A very poorly thought out idea indeed!

All the current Labour council proposals for education are not about what is in the best interest of the children it is about saving money to finance the huge raft of unnecessary expenditures in RCT. where do the children's rights, safety and well-being!
