It's sad Washington has allowed people to live all around their waters like they have. You don't see that in Oregon thank goodness.

These complainers knew what they were buying when they bought on Lk Sutherland. The lake belongs to the public not a select few. Many non property owners enjoy the lake also.

We have lived on the lake since 2004, yearround the last 5 years. The complaints listed in the letter to the commissioners relative to wakeboats have never affected our family of 6, our home, our dock or our bulkhead. Our waterfront home faces the main thoroughfare of daily boat traffic and we feel this is an attempt of some property owners to limit lake activities so that they do not need to perform updates/maintenance or replacements of their docks or bulkheads.

Who recently buys a lake cabin within feet of the lake with an existing huge concrete bulkhead (prior wakeboard era) and floating docks, then complains they there are waves that knock her kids into the bulkhead? And dump the floating dock... it’s floating! Put in a stationary dock. Why didn’t you buy property with a beach? Obviously the huge old concrete bulkhead should have been a clue that there is weather there, and you really didn’t know there were wake boats when you bought. Parenting 101. And if you kayak, learn how to kayak. You might get stuck in a storm or wind that comes up. If you can’t ride waves, you have no business kayaking until you learn how to do it.

They already made it so we couldn't enjoy lake Crescent. Keep Lake Sutherland open and usable for all kinds of watercraft!!

Some of my fondest memories growing up was going water skiing on that lake. Activities in PA are limited and should be supported and expanded... while we're on the topic, get rid of the fence surrounding PA skatepark. Its embarrassing, I've never seen another park with a fence.

I am part of a family that owns property on the lake. Boating and water sports are essential to enjoyment of the lake. I have never witnessed any destruction or any negative effects of wake on docks or shoreline.

Shame on busybody who thinks this ban would result in something positive.
Recreational boating & water sports are activities that bring people together and create lasting, positive memories for everyone. Some of my favorite memories have been made on that lake. Activities like this are important to building a strong community and keeping people happy.
There are plenty of solutions to protect property, other boaters & swimmers from the wakes made from the ballast boats. Outright banning them before making additional attempts to fix the problem is not the way to go about things. And to my understanding, the problems are fairly simple and not a major threat...kids being intimidated by the wake, water splashing on other boats or docks, and....am I missing something else? The wake is a minor inconvenience & problem at most, and calling for the ban of it is inconsiderate.
The lake is a gift, and should be enjoyed fully by anyone lucky enough to get to visit it. That means boats in the water and good times had by all.
This ban is overreaching and I hope you can make the right call here to protect the rights of the people they represent.

Just because YOU are bad at wake surfing doesn’t mean boats should be banned for all... learn to wake surf or drive the boat, and stop trying to ruin everyone’s fun!
